Brooklin holds a stock of genuinely old village homes with painted wood trim, while Williamsburg and Rolling Acres are newer subdivisions where interior repaints usually come first.
Every corner of Whitby is covered, and most of what borders it — call 289-988-1318 if your street is not named above.
Whitby is really two painting markets under one name. Brooklin, up at the north end, still has genuinely old village housing — painted wood siding, wood trim, porches and detail that have been recoated many times over and now carry a thick, sometimes failing paint history. Work up there starts with removal: scraping back to sound material, feathering the edges, spot-priming every bare patch. Skip that and the new coat fails along exactly the same lines the old one did, usually inside two seasons.
Williamsburg, Pringle Creek, Rolling Acres and Taunton North are a different proposition. These are newer subdivisions where the structure is sound and the complaint is cosmetic — flat builder paint that marks if you look at it, and a colour palette chosen by a developer rather than the person living there. That work moves fast, and it is mostly interior: walls, ceilings, trim and doors through the whole house in one mobilisation.
Down at Port Whitby the harbour exposure matters. Wind coming off the lake carries moisture and grit, and exterior wood on properties near the marina weathers on a noticeably shorter cycle than the same wood two kilometres inland. If your house sits down there, expect us to talk about recoating intervals more honestly than you might want to hear.
The other constant in Whitby is basement and rec-room work — a lot of the housing stock here has finished lower levels, and those come with their own issues around moisture, drywall repair and getting a decent finish under artificial light. We colour-match on site rather than from a chip, because a colour that looks right in a showroom often looks nothing like itself in a Whitby basement.

Brooklin holds a stock of genuinely old village homes with painted wood trim, while Williamsburg and Rolling Acres are newer subdivisions where interior repaints usually come first. It matters because preparation decides how long a finish lasts, and what a Whitby house needs depends entirely on which of those it is. We quote from what we see on your Whitby walls, not from a price list.
Typically 1–3 weeks from quote acceptance, depending on the season. Brooklin exteriors need the most lead time because the older painted wood up there takes a full preparation day before any coating goes on. Call 289-988-1318 for current availability in Whitby.
Yes. We come out to the property, measure the actual scope, talk through finishes and email a written quote — usually within 1 business day. No charge, and no pressure to book afterwards.
Benjamin Moore (Aura, Regal Select, Advance), Sherwin-Williams (Emerald, Duration), PPG, and Farrow & Ball on luxury projects. Sherwin-Williams Emerald and Duration handle the harbour exposure near Port Whitby, where wind off the lake carries moisture and grit year-round. We never use builder-grade or economy paint.
Yes — general liability insurance and WSIB coverage. Proof of insurance is available on request, and we re-confirm both for every commercial or condo board project.
On the older Brooklin houses preparation means scraping back to sound material and feathering the edges — a new coat over failing paint fails along the same lines. Preparation is around 60% of a quality paint job and we never skip it — filling, sanding, priming and masking all happen before any colour goes on, and we clean up daily.
