Marmorino Plaster

Marmorino is a classic Italian lime plaster, applied in trowelled layers and finished anywhere from a soft matte to a honed, stone-like sheen. It sits in the same family as Venetian plaster but reads differently on the wall: less mirror polish, more depth and mineral softness, with a surface that responds to changing light through the day. It suits feature walls, powder rooms, fireplace surrounds, ranges hoods, and full rooms in luxury interiors.

Like every mineral finish we apply, the process starts with the substrate. Walls need to be stable, flat, and properly primed for a lime system — which usually means bringing the surface to a higher standard than ordinary paint requires. Where the wall is being built new or skimmed flat first, our Level 5 finishing work provides the substrate a trowelled plaster deserves.

Colour, aggregate, layer count, trowel movement, and sheen are approved on a sample board before the wall begins. Marmorino is tinted through the material rather than painted on top, so the approved sample is the contract for the finished surface. Sealing is specified to the room: a powder room, a shower zone, and a living-room feature wall each need a different level of protection.
